As the Wheel turns once again, we will come together to enjoy the energies of Lammas - the first harvest festival, on Saturday, August 3rd, 6:00 - 9:00 pm.
At this time of year, we celebrate the Goddess in her aspect as Mother. We honor the abundant earth - which provides us so generously with fruits, vegetables, and grains. As it is a harvest festival, we share food and gratitude. We also honor the acts of mothering each of us participate in. This remains largely unacknowledged work, and we have an opportunity to change that!
Over the next few weeks - take some time to honor the mothers in your own lineage. We will be saying their names out loud - so research your matrilineal lineage if you can.
The Goddess goes by many names, and on this night - we will call her in as:
Demeter - Goddess of the Harvest
Mother Mary - Great Mother
Onatha - Corn Woman
* PLEASE RSVP * We plan and prepare very carefully, and it is important to know that you will be joining us so we bring enough materials for everyone.
Saturday, August 3rd at 6:00 pm. We start promptly, so plan to be a few minutes early to get settled.
